Freehold Chiropractor Reviews Ergonomics at your Work Station

Freehold Chiropractor, Dr. Russell Brokstein, reviews ergonomics at your work station.

Every day people go to work and sit at their desks for hours at a time.  There is no wonder people experience neck pain, back pain, headaches, shoulder pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, aches and pains.

It is extremely important for people to make sure their work station is set up ergonomically correct.  Ergonomics is the study of the relationship chiropractor freehold Freehold Chiropractor Reviews Ergonomics at your Work Stationbetween workers and their environment, especially the equipment they use.  The applied science of equipment design, as for the workplace, is intended to maximize productivity by reducing operator fatigue and discomfort.

Physical ergonomics at work is concerned with postural  and biomechanical characteristics as they relate to physical activity.  The relevant topics include working postures, materials handling, repetitive movements, work-related musculoskeletal disorders, workplace layout, safety and health.

The picture to the left can help you set up your desk, chair, computer screen, keyboard and mouse and guide you to proper posture to help reduce work related injuries.  It’s also important to note to take breaks every 30 minutes.  During these breaks, get up, walk around and stretch.

Ergonomics is one key in helping patients correct the underlying cause of their problems.  Taking these simple steps at work can help you in reducing your neck pain, back pain, shoulder pain, headaches, numbness and tingling, and stress.

Along with chiropractic care at Hometown Family Wellness Center in Freehold, NJ,  Dr. Russell Brokstein discusses activities of daily living, including ergonomics at your place of work that could be one of the causes leading to misalignments that are putting the pressure on the nerves.  Dr. Russell has been helping patients for over 14 years in Freehold and the surrounding towns of Marlboro, Manalapan, Howell, Colts Neck, Jackson, Morganville and other communities in Monmouth County, New Jersey.  If you are ready to finally live a pain free, healthy lifestyle without drugs or surgery and enjoy your regular daily activities once again, contact our office at 732-780-0044 and go to our website to find out more information at www.ChiropractorFreehold.com

Neck Pain is Associated with Whiplash and Auto Accidents

Neck pain is the most common symptom reported after an auto accident with around 90% of victims reporting the pain.  During the crash, your body chiropractor freehold Neck Pain is Associated with Whiplash and Auto Accidentsmoves with the seat but your head and neck lag behind.  This difference in motion results in injury.  The spine is vulnerable to sprain and strain from sheer forces from the head and body moving in different directions.  This sheering action can stretch or tear the ligaments, tendons and discs of your spine causing nerve impingement,  pain, swelling and scar tissue.  The neck pain can radiate into the shoulder, arm and hands.  Other related symptoms to whiplash are headaches, dizziness, numbness and tingling in the upper extremity, visual disturbances and concussion.  Research has found that up to 20% of patients can have pain even 10 years after an accident.

If you have been injured in a crash, chiropractic can help.    Research shows chiropractic is more effective in both the long and short term than medical treatment or home exercise. (Spinal manipulation, medication, or home exercise with advice for acute and subacute neck pain: a randomized trial.)   Chiropractic improves range of motion, reduces and prevents scar tissue and corrects the cause of the pain.  Medication at best temporarily covers up the symptoms but also has the risk of serious side effects.

Also the earlier chiropractic care starts can help prevent the development of chronic pain and scar tissue. (Early intervention in whiplash-associated disorders: a comparison of two treatment protocols.)  Unfortunately, many times people don’t experience pain or other symptoms immediately after the accident so they do not get checked.  Weeks, months and even years later, pain occurs and the patient has no idea it is from the past accident.  Make sure you get a thorough examination by a chiropractor that has experience working with auto injuries and whiplash.

Whiplash Leads to Referred Pain Explains Chiropractor in Freehold NJ

Many people experience whiplash injuries after an auto accident or other trauma where the head and neck experiences a sudden abnormal motion or force that causes it to go beyond it’s normal range of motion.  The muscles, tendon and ligaments become damaged.  Car accidents are a common cause of whiplash but it can be a result of playing sports and accidental falls.  Other terms used to describe whiplash are acceleration flexion-extension neck injury and soft tissue cervical hyperextension injury.  Many doctors simply explain it to a patient as cervical sprain or cervical strain.

Neck pain and headaches are just 2 of the common symptoms people experience when they have a whiplash injury.  Whiplash can also result in arm pain, numbness and tingling, shoulder pain, neck chiropractor freehold Whiplash Leads to Referred Pain Explains Chiropractor in Freehold NJpain, dizziness, nauseousness and even TMJ.

One of the difficult aspects of whiplash is that the symptoms don’t present immediately after the trauma.  A lot of times it comes on days, weeks, months to even years down the road.  This is one reason why it’s very important to get evaluated after any trauma.

In 2008 a study was done that showed these symptoms are related to the injury to the neck thru referred pain.  Referred pain originates in one area but is felt in another area.  The pain signals from the injured tissues activate other nerves in the spinal cord and brain.  These nerves cause the brain to perceive pain in other areas that these nerves control.

In a Swedish study, researchers induced referred pain in whiplash patients and pain free people to see if they had a different referred pain response.  12 of the subjects were experiencing whiplash while the other 12 had no pain and were the control group.  The test subjects controlled the electrical stimulation levels that were used on the shoulder and upper arm to elicit referred pain.  There was a dramatic difference between the whiplash patients and the control group:

a)  The pain free control group needed 3 times the amount of stimulation to reach the pain levels the whiplash patients experienced.  The whiplash group was more sensitive.

b)  The whiplash patients experienced a significantly wider area of referred pain than the pain free group which reported limited amounts of referred pain.

c)  The type of referred pain was different in both groups.  The control group experienced referred pain that was always distal to the point of stimulation while the whiplash group experienced referred pain that was more proximal to the stimulation closer to the center of the body.

This study helps us further understand the whiplash injury as other studies have also shown that the central nervous system becomes sensitive and over stimulated because of the injury to the spine.  More recent research is showing patients who are experiencing central sensitivity are more likely to experience chronic long term pain and symptoms.

As a chiropractor in Freehold, NJ,  I have been treating whiplash patients for 14 years.  These studies are proof that early treatment after an auto accident or other trauma is extremely important to prevent chronic, long term problems. In our office, Hometown Family Wellness Center, we use state of the art computerized technology to help examine the spine, nerves and surrounding muscles to show how severe the underlying condition is and whether it is acute or chronic.  The earlier you are treated for the injury, we can correct the problem so you can continue to enjoy a normal, healthy active lifestyle and prevent further problems down the road.  Chiropractic finds the cause and treats it so you can be pain free once again without drugs and surgery.

Freehold Chiropractor Explains Shoulder Pain can be Associated to Neck Pain or Whiplash

Auto injuries are shown to cause more than just neck pain.  In a  new study researchers find that patients with whiplash or other causes of neck pain were more likely to have problems with shoulder function than healthy chiropractor freehold Freehold Chiropractor Explains Shoulder Pain can be Associated to Neck Pain or Whiplashpatients.  Misalignments of the shoulder can create or irritate neck pain.  The shoulder imbalances can also cause other problems including headaches or migraines.

Patients in the research had neck pain of different causes.  It was found they had more difficulty performing routine shoulder movements, and their head and neck postures were altered. The research also showed that depending on the cause of the neck problem influenced the type of shoulder problems the patient had: those patient that couldn’t elevate their shoulders as muchchiropractor freehold Freehold Chiropractor Explains Shoulder Pain can be Associated to Neck Pain or Whiplash as normal patients had insidious onset neck disorders while those patients that had shoulders that were rotated forward slightly had neck problems resulting from whiplash.

Like many other studies, it is found that whiplash patients have a higher risk of developing shoulder pain and experiencing a number of other conditions including pain, headaches, numbness and tingling just to name a few. This shows that neck injuries alter the function of other areas of the body and that it’s so important that a patient finds a practitioner that addresses the entire spine and other surrounding regions, not just the location of the pain itself.

Our chiropractic office, Hometown Family Wellness Center located in Freehold, NJ, addresses the cause of the problems that you are experiencing.  We have been helping patients for over 14 years in the Freehold area and surrounding towns of Marlboro, Manalapan, Howell, Colts Neck, Jackson, Morganville, and other communities of Monmouth and Ocean Counties in New Jersey.  Relying on medications might just cover up your pain at best, but increases the chances of disability because you are not addressing the cause of the pain and you become overconfident that just because the pain is decreased that you can perform normal activities without causing further harm.  Many studies show that chiropractic not only reduces your pain naturally without drugs or surgery, but improves your quality of life so you can enjoy your normal daily activities once again.  Seeking early treatment may help you avoid developing shoulder and back pain, arthritis, degeneration and other problems later on. The Importance of Chiropractic – More than Pain Relief Explains Freehold Chiropractor

We currently live in a society that is run by medicine and surgery.  This isn’t health care at all.. this is what is called sick care.  Waiting til you have pain, symptoms, high blood pressure, digestive issues, chronically sick, cancer and other conditions then just treating it with medications that at best cover up the symptoms making you think you are healthy until the next symptoms appear.  Many of these symptoms are actually just side effects of the medications you are taking.  Rather than taking you off the medications causing side effects, they put you on another medication to cover up that symptom but causes many more side effects.  This is a vicious cycle which is the downfall of our health and wellness in the Unite States with skyrocketing costs.

When most people hear or think about chiropractic, they think of pain relief.  This is what the medical profession would like everybody to think, but it is the furthest thing from the facts.  Yes, people go to the chiropractor and get relief of their back pain, their neck pain, headaches and migraines, Fibromyalgia, sciatica, numbness and tingling just to name a few.  Research is constantly coming out showing the effectiveness of chiropractic with all of these conditions.  You can view many of them on my blog by clicking:  Hometown Family Wellness Center’s Blog.

More importantly is that if everybody would understand how the body works chiropractor freehold The Importance of Chiropractic More than Pain Relief Explains Freehold Chiropractorand what chiropractors actually do, YOU TOO would experience what true health care is all about.

Chiropractic was founded in 1895 and is based off the natural functioning of the body.  We all know the nervous system controls all organs, systems, cells, tissues and functions of the body.  Your brain sends messages to all of these areas and as long as the nerve impulses reach the intended destination, your overall health will be optimal.  Because this system is so important, we were created with a protective boney spine that not only is hard, but we have multiple joints that allow us to move.  Now, for a second, just imagine if the spine was just one long bone.. that wouldn’t work too well would it?

The only problem with our spine consisting of 24 moving vertebrae or bones is that with all the daily stresses we encounter, they can easily move out of place, putting pressure on the nerves.  When this occurs, there is interference of the messages the brain is trying to send through the nerves.

You already probably have experienced numbness and tingling in your arms,  hands, legs or feet and know it’s because there is pressure on the nerves in your neck or low back that go down the extremities.  But what do you think would happen to the nerves that are between your shoulder blades that go to your heart and your lungs?  Do you think you’d get numbness and tingling of the heart or lungs?  What about the nerves in your mid back that help control the stomach, intestines and kidneys… would they start tingling?  What if only 80% of the nerve message gets through the nerve that goes to the heart?  Do you think the heart will work at 100%?  of course not, it can only function at best 80%!!!  Is this a healthy heart?  Do you think your blood pressure can be normal with the heart only receiving 80% of the nerve impulses it’s supposed to be getting?  What about all the other organs getting less than 100% of the nerve impulses?  Is less than 100% going to bring you optimal health?

Another analogy that might make this more clear to you is thinking of your house.  There is a circuit breaker that is the control center of the house and all the wires (nerves) leave it to go to every room in the house.  Each room has multiple outlets that you plug different appliances, electronics, lights, etc.  What happens if the circuit trips?  Whatever is plugged into that outlet from that circuit is going to shut off or malfunction.

This is how basic your body works.. I know, I made it look very simple.  Your body short circuits from the time you are born to current.  We have stress that accumulates in the body, that cause the spinal segments to misalign, thereby putting pressure on the nerves.  At birth the medical doctors are pulling on the baby, twisting his or her neck, misaligning the bones in the neck.  As a child, how many times did you trip and fall, play fight with friends, have accidents playing sports.  All the years sitting in chairs at school that are hard to sit with proper posture.  Carrying heavy book bags, then purses or briefcases on one shoulder.  Just walking and missing the curb can cause the bones to misalign.  Ever have an auto accident?  Just think of all the small traumas that you never considered can be doing damage to not only your body but your entire health.

It is so important that everybody gets their spines checked.  We all experience stress that causes the bones to misalign on a daily basis that puts pressure on the nerves and decreases the overall function and health of our bodies.  These misalignments are called subluxations by chiropractors.  A chiropractor can evaluate anybody to detect and correct these subluxations, bringing about optimal nerve function and get your body as close to optimal health as possible.

Imagine everybody being more healthy with a drug-free, hands on approachchiropractor freehold The Importance of Chiropractic More than Pain Relief Explains Freehold Chiropractor with chiropractic.  Research shows that chiropractic saves money in healthcare.  Less hospital admissions, less surgeries and procedures, less prescription drugs.

Why wouldn’t  you want to be a part of the growing trend of patients who want to be healthy naturally?  Are you ready to be able to enjoy a normal active lifestyle, reduce your health care costs, improve the functioning of your body, reduce your need for harmful medications and surgeries?

Freehold Chiropractor Shares Research that Shows Back Surgery Fails 74% of the Time

Over 80% of the population suffers from back pain at one time or another.  It is becoming common practice for medical doctors to suggest back surgery and the patients are led to believe it is a quick fix.  But boy are you in for a rude chiropractor freehold Freehold Chiropractor Shares Research that Shows Back Surgery Fails 74% of the Timeawakening if you choose this as your option.  A new study reveals that back surgery fails 74% of the time!

The study reviewed the records of 1450 patient records in the Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation database.  These patients were suffering with conditions from disc degeneration, disc herniation or radiculopathy, a nerve condition that causes numbness or tingling and weakness of the limbs.  The patients were split equally into 2 groups:  those that had fusion surgery vs those that had no surgery at all.

In the 2 year follow up with these patients, only 26% returned to work in the surgery group, yet 67% in the NON surgical group returned to work.  What is more alarming is that the surgical group had a 41% increase in the use of dangerous pain killers, putting them at risk of further side effects and addictions.

“The study [1] provides clear evidence that for many patients, fusion surgeries designed to alleviate pain from degenerating discs don’t work”, Dr. Trang Nguyen, lead author and a researcher at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. [2]

Many patients report increase in excruciating pain post surgery and the increase prescription of medications rarely helps.  One patient, Nancy Scatena, reported “I was suicidal” due to the excruciating pain.  She went for another opinion from another surgery that was described as a “miracle worker”.  The doctor assured her he would fix everything and after a brief period of relief, the pain came back with vengeance.

Many pain management doctors and some surgeons state surgery is an empty promise, yet due to the suggestion of the medical doctors around 600,000 people opt for surgery which has such a low rate of success.  Many times the surgeries back fire, resulting in more pain and prescribed medications.

These surgeries aren’t simple procedures either.  There are many risks that come along with them, including paralysis and even death.  There is a huge concern because in just the last 15 years, there was an 8 time increase in these complicated surgeries.  In 2007 alone, there were a 27 million reported back problems with over $30 billion spent on relieving the pain.. the biggest portion of which was spent on these dangerous spine surgeries that have a low success rate.

Two other studies further confirm findings:

1) Surgery should not be recommended until a patient has 2 years of all other conservative approaches have failed.

2) Adjustments (chiropractic treatments) with or without exercise therapy have a higher success rate than medical care alone over 3 and 12 month periods.  To top if off, the more successful chiropractic approach shows better value over not only the medical care but also better than manipulation along with exericse.

I’m a chiropractor in Freehold, NJ and at my office, Hometown Family Wellness Center, I have seen patients for over 13 years with many sources of back pain.  I take a conservative approach with your condition, and upon a full evaluation, I show you what is the cause of the problem.  If you are one of the rare instances that you won’t benefit from chiropractic, I refer you to a local specialist who can further help you with your lower back pain.  With over 80% success rate, chiropractic is the best option.  Before any thought of looking into back surgery, I always suggest you look into any alternative options first.  I have seen many patients over the years who have suffered through the surgery with little to no results.  Some have had spinal fusions where they are so restricted in their daily activities now and can’t enjoy life, others had temporary relief then the pain gradually returned to beyond levels prior to the surgery, and one of my mother’s friends was even paralyzed from her waist down to her feet.  I have seen many scenarios and most of these patients were told there was no other option.  Just remember, this is your body and there are always better and more safe alternatives before trying surgery.  Yes, you might have heard or nobody who had a successful spinal surgery, but those are the rare cases.  Is it worth the risk?

If you or somebody you know suffers with low back pain and have considered surgery, please share this blog and research as much as you can before taking the leap to surgery.  If you are in Freehold or the surrounding towns of Marlboro, Manalapan, Howell, Colts Neck, Jackson, Morganville or other areas of Monmouth County, NJ, give our office a call at 732-780-0044 and go to our website:  www.chiropractorfreehold.com

Freehold NJ Chiropractor Helps Whiplash and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder

Many people suffer from chronic pain after an auto accident.  Not only do you experience the injury but there is an experience of stress due to the pain and inactivity due to the pain and recovery.  Leading whiplash researchers have recently chiropractor freehold Freehold NJ Chiropractor Helps Whiplash and Post Traumatic Stress Disorderreleased new information  finding that you are at higher risk of developing long-term symptoms as a result of the stress experienced from a car accident.  The more chronic a problem is, the more it will affect the quality of your daily living.  It will affect the activities you do, ability to spend time with family and friends, and affect things as simple as work and sleep.

44 patients were evaluated in a research study.  They had whiplash injuries from an accident in the month before.  Each went thru a physical exam, an MRI to evaluate the structure of the muscles, and testing for post-traumatic stress disorder also known as PTSD.

The patients that had both high initial pain levels and signs of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder were most likely to develop chronic pain.  The patients with PTSD didn’t only have injury to the spine but they also had obvious changes in the structure of the supporting muscles in the neck and upper back.  The damage to the spine extended beyond just the bones, nerves and discs, but the reaction to the stress creates a pathological change in the muscles.

Early intervention is the key to prevent chronicity of the pain and scar tissue that develops with whiplash.  Many times, accident victims don’t get evaluated after the accident due to the lack of or minimal amount of pain they are experiencing.  As research proves, the earlier you get checked, you can avoid future problems that can show up weeks, months and even years down the road.  Many times people come into our office with neck pain, numbness and tinglings, headaches or other symptoms that they don’t know how they started, but upon consultation and evaluation it is almost always related to a previous car accident, sports related, or other activity where the head is whipped quickly.

Many people seek medical care that just prescribe medications that temporarily cover up the symptoms of pain.  These medications do not help heal the muscles, tendons and ligaments.  If you take medicine for pain relief, you will have a false sense of security that you are better and will do activities that will further damage the tissues.  On top of that you have to consider all of the side effects of the medications.

As a chiropractor in Freehold, NJ, we make sure your body heals optimally so we can restore your spine to it’s natural function.  We fully evaluate your condition to find the cause of the problem and using chiropractic techniques, we correct the problem without the harmful effects of medication.  Then you will be pain free and can enjoy your normal activities once again!  Chiropractic has been found to have one of the highest success rates in treating whiplash and PTSD, which can help you reduce the possibility of having chronic pain in the future.

High Blood Pressure? Chiropractor in Freehold NJ Shares Research You Need to Read!

Over the past couple of years, the media is starting to share important information that the public needs to hear.  Your medical doctors will rarely share this material with you.

Just a couple of years ago, it was released that chiropractic adjustments can help lower blood pressure naturally.  Those patients in one study had a dramatic drop in their high blood pressure by an average of 17 points.  That’s an equivalent of giving a patient 2 blood pressure medications at once….oh, and that’s WITHOUT all the side effects of medications!

Watch one of the many news reports here:

I must admit I laugh at the MD who says they have seen MIRACULOUS changes but to stick to proven methods for now, that it’s not available to everybody, that’s it’s still investigational?  Proven methods?  Prescribing medications that just cover up the symptoms and you need to stay on forever, with many side effects?  The medical way of treating conditions is a vicious cycle of treating one symptom with a drug that causes other problems so they can prescribe more for the new symptoms that will show up.

Another study done in 1988 took 75 patients in a double blind study.  In this study, one group of patients with high blood chiropractor freehold High Blood Pressure? Chiropractor in Freehold NJ Shares Research You Need to Read!pressure received adjustments to the thoracic spine area.  Another group received placebos (movements that seemed to be adjustments but were not), and a final group received no treatment.  The adjusted group experienced decreases in both systolic and diastolic blood pressure while no change was noted in either the control or placebo group.

Chiropractors have been stating this information for well over 100 years and have explained why it works:

Chiropractic is more than just neck or back pain!  It is about the optimal functioning of your body by removing nerve interference.  When the brain can communicate with the rest of the body, the signals are unimpeded, and the messages can get to all the organs, muscles, tissues and cells.  The medical profession will admit that if you have a “pinched” nerve in the neck or lower back, that you can experience numbness and or tingling of the hands or feet.  Well what about the nerves that go to your heart, lungs, kidneys, bladder, stomach, ears, thyroid gland, pancreas and every other organ in your body?  You are not going to get numbness and tingling, but you will get decreased functioning of these organs and that will decrease your overall health.  Chiropractors detect and correct the spinal vertebra that are misaligned and putting pressure on the nerves.  By getting to the cause of the problem, chiropractic helps correct dysfunction and return optimal health to your body.

My name is Dr. Russell Brokstein, DC and my very first patient while in chiropractic college had severe hypertension.  He was a 50 year old gentleman with blood pressure of 200/140.  His medical doctors said it was genetically high because not one medication on the market lowered his blood pressure and it had been high for over 20 years.  After a thorough evaluation, we found that several segments associated with high blood pressure were present.  We took his blood pressure before his first adjustment and immediately after the adjustment took his blood pressure again to find it had dropped around 20 points.  That’s an immediate response.. not taking medications over several weeks or months to determine if it’s going to work.

I have been in practice the last 13 years and helping patients at our Freehold, NJ office Hometown Family Wellness Center.  While helping most patients that come in for aches and pains, I educate them about the full benefits of chiropractic and helping them be more healthy without drugs or surgery.  I have many other patients who I have not only helped with high blood pressure, but other health problems.  Does it help for everybody?  No.. but isn’t it worth your health to try something that can return you to optimal health and wellness without the harmful affects of medications?  One thing I can say, no matter what, your body will be more healthy and optimally functioning under chiropractic care by removing nerve interference.

If you are ready to experience health and wellness without medications, call our office to schedule a consultation.  To find out more information about our practice go to www.chiropractorfreehold.com.  We have been helping residents of Freehold and surrounding towns of Marlboro, Manalapan, Howell, Jackson, Morganville, Colts Neck and other communities in Monmouth and Ocean County, New Jersey.

Whiplash or Auto Injury? Freehold NJ Chiropractor Shares Multiple Studies

Multiple Studies Confirm Positive Outcomes of Chiropractic Care for Whiplash Injuries!

chiropractor freehold Whiplash or Auto Injury? Freehold NJ Chiropractor Shares Multiple StudiesMy name is Dr. Russell Brokstein and as owner of Hometown Family Wellness Center in Freehold, New Jersey, I see many patients every year that have been in car accidents.  Some have pain immediately after the auto accident, others don’t experience the pains and problems months to even years down the road.

One thing many people experience is whiplash.  According to the Foundation for Chiropractic Progress, “Whiplash is defined as an injury to the cervical spine caused by an abrupt jerking motion of the head, backward or forward, often occurring from rear on-set automobile accidents and amusement rides or the result of falls, accidents and sporting activities.”

It takes just a 3 to 5 miles per hour bumper hit to cause trauma to the spine and cause whiplash.  Many times, patients in these instances of low impact trauma don’t know they had damage that occurred until years down the road as the problem progressively got worse.

1 out of 15 adult Americans suffers from the annoying and sometimes debilitating long-term effects of whiplash injury, usually in the form of neck stiffness and pain.  Others can develop headaches, migraines, numbness and tingling or even shoulder pain.

Many scientific studies have confirmed the benefits of chiropractic care when treating whiplash injuries.  Arthur C. Croft, D.C. of the Spine Research Institute states, “While chiropractic care in the acute stage can often stave off this unpleasant outcome, two of the studies have shown that even in the chronic stage, chiropractic intervention can provide up to 90 percent relief for these sufferers.”

One study in the journal Injury reports:  “93 percent of the 28 patients studied retrospectively were found to have a statistically significant improvement following chiropractic care.”

A follow up study in the Journal of Orthopaedic Medicine concluded that, “Whiplash injuries are common.  Chiropractic is the only PROVEN effective treatment in chronic cases.  Our study enables patients to be classified at initial assessment in order to target those patients who will benefit from such treatment.”

Many things can be done to help prevent cases of whiplash, including driving carefully and wearing proper restraints like seatbelts and positioning your headrest at the right level.  Whiplash can also occur during sporting events and other activities and it’s extremely important to wear the correct safety equipment and head gear.

Chiropractic care is a well established and proven effective treatment in providing considerable relief with the highest outcomes in correcting whiplash.  Unlike medical treatment which just prescribes pain medications, muscle relaxers and injections that might temporarily cover up symptoms but have many side effects, chiropractic care corrects the cause of the problems.  Chiropractic allows the patients to get back to normal daily activities.

It’s important to get checked after any type of trauma to the body.  The quicker you get checked, you can prevent progression to a chronic condition.  You can have serious consequences down the road even if you do not feel pain right away!
